Signs of an aphid infestation include distorted or yellowing leaves, sticky honeydew residue on plants, and the presence of ants on plants. Additionally, you may notice a large number of small, soft-bodied insects clustered on the undersides of leaves or stems. These insects can be green, black, brown, or pink in color and may also have wings. Regularly inspecting plants for these signs can help identify and address aphid infestations early. **

Yes, you can still eat currants after an aphid infestation. While aphids may have been present on the plant, they are not harmful to humans if consumed. However, it is important to thoroughly wash the currants before eating them to remove any potential residue from the aphids or their excrement. Additionally, it is a good idea to inspect the currants for any remaining aphids before consuming them. **

One way to deal with a very strong aphid infestation is to introduce natural predators such as ladybugs or lacewings to the affected area. Additionally, regularly spraying affected plants with a strong stream of water can help dislodge and remove aphids. Using insecticidal soap or neem oil can also be effective in controlling aphid populations. It is important to monitor the situation closely and take proactive measures to prevent future infestations. **

The offspring of an aphid, known as a nymph, typically weighs less than 1 milligram throughout its life. As it grows and molts, its weight may slightly increase, but it remains very lightweight. This small size allows aphids to easily move around plants and reproduce quickly. **

Aphids are small insects that come from eggs laid on plants in the spring. They reproduce rapidly and can quickly infest plants, feeding on their sap and causing damage. In Germany, aphid infestations are common, especially in agricultural areas and gardens. The temperate climate and abundance of host plants make it a suitable environment for aphids to thrive. However, efforts are made to control aphid populations through natural predators, insecticides, and other management strategies. **
