Currants wilt due to a lack of water reaching the plant's leaves and stems. This can be caused by insufficient watering, excessive heat, or poor soil drainage. When the plant does not receive enough water, it is unable to maintain its turgidity and the leaves and stems begin to droop and wilt. Proper watering and soil management can help prevent currants from wilting. **
