Absences refer to the state of being away or not present when expected. In an educational context, absences typically refer to students not attending classes or missing school. Absences can be excused or unexcused, with excused absences typically being for valid reasons such as illness or family emergencies, while unexcused absences are typically for reasons that are not considered valid by the school. Absences can impact a student's academic performance and may require documentation or communication with the school. **

Unexcused absences are instances when a student is absent from school without a valid reason or permission from a parent or guardian. These absences are not approved by the school and are typically considered to be a violation of school attendance policies. Unexcused absences can result in disciplinary actions, such as detention, suspension, or other consequences determined by the school. It is important for students to communicate with their school and provide valid reasons for any absences to avoid being marked as unexcused. **

Absences are typically graded based on the school or organization's attendance policy. In many cases, absences are marked as either excused or unexcused. Excused absences are usually for valid reasons such as illness, family emergencies, or religious observances, and may not negatively impact a student's grade. Unexcused absences, on the other hand, may result in a deduction of points or a lower grade, depending on the specific policy in place. It's important for students to be aware of their school's attendance policy and communicate with their teachers or professors if they need to miss class for any reason. **

However, excessive excused absences can still have negative consequences, such as falling behind in school or work, missing important information or opportunities, and impacting one's overall performance. It's important to communicate with teachers, employers, or supervisors about excused absences and make efforts to catch up on missed work to minimize any negative impact. **
